Hypnotherapy

Clinical & Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH)

Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy which uses the power of the client’s mind to cause positive changes in their life. The hypnotherapy techniques are taught to the client by the hypnotherapist.  The client can then practice self-hypnosis in between appointments.

After a consultation, which will help to rationalise the client’s thinking about their problem, hypnosis can then be used to counteract ‘negative self-hypnosis’, which the client may have been practising unwittingly for years!  Sometimes being hypnotised means being brought to a deep state of calm relaxation.  However, it may be more appropriate to encourage focus, positive thinking and assertiveness.

The client always feels in control. Hypnosis is achieved by the hypnotherapist giving instructions that the client follows. The only way it will not work is if the client chooses not to follow instructions. Clients cannot be forced to do anything they are uncomfortable with.

Hypnosis is similar to meditation, relaxation and positive thinking. Sometimes a client may need confidence in order to progress, or they may need to change their way of viewing, dealing with or accepting a situation. The therapy will be designed to treat you as an individual, giving you exactly what you require in order to become a happier, more positive, and more successful person.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. You will be taught how to stop automatic negative thoughts and employ a range of techniques and skills to achieve a much more positive outcome in any situation.  Make an appointment today and see how hypnotherapy can change your life for the better!
